As the 2025 academic year comes to an end, we’re grateful for the incredible work of the 2024-2025 board as well as excited to introduce our new leadership team!
In this post, we’ll take a moment to recognize the accomplishments of our 2024–2025 board, introduce the amazing new members stepping into leadership roles, and highlight some of the goals we're excited to pursue in the coming year.
Celebrating our Outgoing Board:
Co-President: Genevieve Gandara
Co-President: Sofia Syed
Project Lead: Payal Patel
Secretary: Sophia Polidoro
We hope to still receive help from Sravani Boggaram and Riya Shrivastava, both of whom are indispensable contacts to the Ecuador Project.
Over the past year, our outgoing board achieved various milestones that have been key to pushing our chapter forward.
Some of their key accomplishments include:
Successfully fundraised over $40,000 to support our Ecuador water project
Presenting our club’s project to various renowned researchers at JPL

Attended EWB Southern California Regional Conference, hosted by UCLA
Grew our online presence, raising awareness through social media and did several outreach events

To Genevieve, Sofia, Payal, and Sophia—thank you!
We are excited to introduce our incoming board who bring new energy and ideas.
President: Jordan Threat
Jordan is a junior (‘27) majoring in mechanical engineering. She is a member of Lloyd house and is interested in sustainability and using engineering to help fight climate change. Jordan is originally from Kansas City, Missouri. When she is not working on sets, she likes to go to the beach, watch movies, and try different restaurants in Old Pas.
Vice-President: Diya Agarwal
Diya is a junior (‘27) studying mechanical engineering originally from Miami, Florida and part of Avery House. She is really interested in research related to robotics, and plans on pursuing the robotics minor as well. Apart from academics, Diya loves listening to music, drawing, going to the beach, and exploring Pasadena (especially to get food). One fun fact about her: She did Taekwondo until her senior year of high school, and she is a second degree black belt!
Treasurer: Ama Obeng
Ama Obeng is a senior (‘26) studying Mechanical Engineering in Lloyd House. For the past year, she has been conducting earthquake engineering research with Professor Asimaki. She plans to pursue a PhD in either Civil Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering after undergrad. A fun fact about Ama is that she loves to read and hopes to publish a short story someday!
Secretary: Ana Jaramillo
Ana Jaramillo is a junior (‘27) studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Biology. She is from Miami, Florida and originally from Colombia. She is a member of Lloyd house and is interested in biomedical engineering and public health. Aside from academics, Ana is part of the Caltech’s Women’s Soccer Team and Caltech Hispanic and Latino Association (CHLA). One of her favorite things to do is go to the beach and listen to music.
As we look forward, our new board is excited to build on what we have done this past year and keep working on perfecting our designs to be able to travel this spring. One of our main goals is to advance the Ecuador water project by expanding our club and welcoming in new people. We hope to continue fundraising and strengthen our engagement within the Caltech community. We are excited for what’s to come and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together!
